Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsley in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

19 year old Australian actress Mia Wasikowska has been cast to play the role of Alice Kingsley in the upcoming Tim Burton’s feature movie rendition of Lewis Carroll’s tale Alice in Wonderland. Mia Wasikowska will be playing Alice Kingsley alongside Johnny Depp who plays Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter who’s the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

Mia Wasikowska has appeared in some B-List movies but she’s generally an unknown actress to most and now she’ll be in a movie directed by Tim Burton with some big names, such as Johnny Depp. If she gets recognized, it would be from her role as Sophie in the HBO series “In Treatment”. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be available in 3D format. The release date is set for March of 2010.

From Alice in Wonderland still released so far, it looks as though Mia Wasikowska will be the only actress in the movie who will have a “normal” appearance. All other actors and actresses will clothes and make ups worthy of Tim Burton’s imagination. Alice in Wonderland is being shot in Cornwall, England and from reports of insiders, the movie will be a mixture of live acting and computer generated CGI.

David Slade – The Baddest Director in the World

Summit Entertainment, the production company behind Twilight – the vampire love story saga have announced that their third installation titled Eclipse will be directed by David Slade. Let me tell you something – David Slade is the Baddest Director in the World. Not only has he filmed 30 Days of Night, which totally rocked, he also filmed some of the finest music videos:

couple more for Muse and other artists. David Slade simply rocks like that. He doesn’t direct faggy music or faggy movies. Summit Entertainment definitely got themselves a good director for Eclipse. But let me tell you one more thing which proves that David Slade truly is the baddest director in the world. It has nothing to do with directing, but being a director and hating on kid on a plane like that makes him the coolest director who speaks out against that shit. Look at this:

David Slade reacted exactly the same way I would have reacted. I effin hate kids on a plane. It should be illegal for kids to board a plane, unless it’s in a cage for snakes by the engines somewhere. When I flew to Europe in 2004, there were those stupid two kids who would not shut up for 5 minutes right across the middle walkway from me. During a 9 hour flight I was TAF, wanted to take a nap and was falling asleep all the time but with the noise those kids were making, it threw me out of my sleep as soon as I fell into it. Kid’s parents would not tell them to shut up and flight attendants were doing their jobs so they were nice to kids.

I was the only one who voiced my opinion on that plane by asking the flight attendant if I could borrow an axe from the cockpit. I wanted to make the flight pleasurable for all. I’d do the service to society by silencing those stupid kids with a merciful axe to the face. Oh how enjoyable a flight would have been afterwards. Sadly, my wish was not granted so the kids were given green light to make for the most miserable 9 hours of everybody who was on that plane.

When I board a plane, I always look around to see if there are any kids also boarding and if I see some, I immediately alert flight attendants and loudly ask for a seat as far away from those obnoxious kids as possible. Ban kids from flying. David Slade understands that principle and that makes him the most bad ass director in the world.

Rooney Mara as Nancy Thompson in the Nightmare on Elm Street Remake

Rooney Mara is a virtually unknown actress. In few years of her acting careers she’s been in a couple of TV series (Law & Order, Women’s Murder Club) and some movies you haven’t seen (Dream Boy, Urban Legends: Bloody Mary). According to reports from Bloody-Disgusting, Rooney Mara is in final negotiations to play Nancy Thompson character in the upcoming remake of famous horror film Nightmare on Elm Street. That’s a big break point in her career – scoring a role in Nightmare on Elm Street remake will move Rooney Mara from D List to…. well, B List. It’s an upgrade never the less.

The remake of Nightmare on Elm Street is rumored to have a brand new scripts that doesn’t follow old one too closely. Obviously, list of characters remains (so far) unchanged, even though to meet 21st century standards, Nancy Thompson will be an anti-social goth chick – yumm. Basic story line of a child molester who gets burned to death by a mob of pissed of parents and then returns to turn life of a girl who ratted him out to hell would likely remain unchanged in the remake.

The role of Freddy Krueger has been entrusted to Jackie Earle Haley. Other confirmed cast of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake include Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner. The release date has been set to April 16, 2010. Production begins in May this year in Chicago. The movie will be directed by Samuel Bayer.

I’ll be brief on this one – watch Monsters vs Aliens Trailer. The movie is in theaters near you right now and it’s awesome. Monsters vs Aliens is an animated movie brought to you by Dreamworks and made by the same people who created Shrek – need I say more? Shrek freaking rocked and so does Monsters vs Aliens. There’s nothing hotter than two monster creatures fighting each other anyway. The list of cast contains some well recognized names such as Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Keifer Sutherland, Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon or Rainn Wilson. Well worth your time. First New Moon Set Pictures Just Leaked – Check Them Out

The Twilight Series craze does not ease up. The cast took a little break after an insane success of first installment of The Twilight Saga and now they’re back hard at work on the sequel – New Moon. And your authority blog on all things Hollywood is here to present to you first New Moon set pictures which just leaked. Check them out!

From the pictures it appears as though the New Moon set was one big smoking area, though. Every member of the New Moon cast is smoking a cigarette, except from I am so excited to see these first pictures from the New Moon set. What freaks me out though is that everyone seems to have a smoke in their hands except for Taylor Lautner and Jackson Rathbone.

The production on New Moon started on the set in Vancouver. Kristen Stewart was not seen anywhere near Robert Pattinson – which most likely doesn’t mean anything, I’m just saying. Taylor Lautner kind of bulked up, at least seems to me as though he did and the wig looks sick on him. Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed also showed up and appear on those just leaked pictures from the set of New Moon.

Darius Goes West – Story of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Suffering Darius Weems

Darius Goes West is an award winning movie about 15 year old Darius Weems who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The documentary follows the journey of Darius Weems and his eleven friends as they go across America to Los Angeles where Darius is hoping to get his wheelchair pimped out by MTV’s Pimp My Ride.

Darius Goes West is an extraordinary and touching documentary. Because of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Darius Weems had never left his home town of Athens, Georgia. Then in 2005, when he was 15 he set out on his epic journey along with his friends and the film crew under direction of Logan Smalley. Since then, the movie has won awards at 27 film festivals.

Darius Weems is now 18 year old and the crew who previously got together to film Darius Goes West are back together again, this time with a mission to sell one million copies of the movie on DVD. The discs sell for $20, and with each DVD sold, $17 will go towards the efforts to treat or cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This genetic disease claimed the life of Darius’ brother who died at the age of 19. On a worldwide scale, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the #1 terminal genetic disease for children. Earthlings Documentary – Animal Abuse Video with Joaquin Phoenix

I have just watched this excellent documentary titled Earthlings. The name of the documentary may not suggest it at first, but it does make a lot of sense once you start watching it. It’s a video about animal abuse. Perhaps one of the harshest and most comprehensive video documentaries on animal abuse produced to date. It’s not easy to watch at all, especially if you’re an animal lover and human hater like me. Earthlings basically dips into every situation known to men involving animals and how we as fellow Earthlings have come to exploit animals, abuse them and brought many on the brink of destruction. Earthlings documentary is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix – great guy, great actor, animal rights activist and an overall great person with fantastic voice. Director and producer of Earthlings – Shaun Monson could not have picked a better person to narrate this documentary. It also comes as no surprise that Earthlings documentary is fully supported by Woody Harrelson – an activist for sustainable life choices. Musical score for Earthlings has been provided by another activist and an excellent musician – Moby.

Earthlings documentary is divided into five main section: Pets, Food, Clothes, Entertainment, Research. Each of these “industries” if you will involve animal abuse and exploitations, oftentimes done behind closed doors so average folk doesn’t know the real deal. The documentary reveals all the colorful details of mistreatment of animals with recordings of actual events that will make your non existent heard bleed tears. It’s saddening how far we as humans have fallen. The documentary also dubs into seal hunting in my home country of Canada. It also talk about (to me the most shocking) dolphin mass slaughter in one of my favorite countries – Japan and also talks about whaling which is done in great deal in another of my favorite countries – Iceland. So unfortunate so many great countries disregard the fact that animals have feelings. Animals experience fear and pain, more so than humans as many of their senses are developed better than same sense in humans, hence the experience of pain through these fine nerves is more intense.

Earthlings is definitely a great documentary that everyone should see. Prepare for a rollercoaster of images that will make you extremely sad and upset. It doesn’t help one bit that I have just seen another gut wrenching animal abuse video – Kenny Glenn beating and abusing cat Dusty. Not to mention that fail of humanity with chimpanzee in Connecticut I mention in my previous post that deals with the cartoon by Sean Delonas.

I truly feel like animals should really just gang up on us disgusting humans and exterminate us once and for all. We’re the scum of this Earth. We are the one destroying it and we’re also destroying these precious animal. Shame on us. We deserve the worst of punishments. Everybody, please watch Earthlings and reconsider what you eat, what you wear, what you use and what you watch for entertainment. Make adequate lifestyle changes for the better. These defenseless animals need it. If you don’t do it, then who will? Please

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Leaked Movie Trailer

The trailer for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen movie was not scheduled to go on line until Monday (tomorrow) but leaked version is already available. The trailer has been played in front of Friday the 13th remake and as it goes – ever present bootleggers recorded everything and now it’s available on line.

The quality of the trailer is not the same as we will have once the official, not bootlegged version is made available by DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures – the distributors of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen motion picture. However even low quality recording has something to it and gives decent idea on what amount of destruction the world will be facing once Transformers 2 hits movie theaters on June 26th, 2009. Official release date was set to June 24th, 2009 but Paramount Pictures postponed it by two days.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is a sequel to 2007 Transformers movie and is directed by Michael Bay with Steven Spielberg being an executive producer. Shia LaBeouf will again star in a role of Sam Witwicky with Megan Fox being the main female actress. That giant thing in the trailer is a Decepticon. Rumor has it a big part of the movie will be taking place in Egypt. Enjoy leaked trailer below:

The Union: The Business Behind Getting High is basically a Marijuana Documentary about Marijuana industry in British Columbia, Canada. The main premise of the documentary is to present Marijuana through clear and understandable facts. It doesn’t focus much on BC as its main area, instead the focus is on comparison of Marijuana to tobacco or alcohol – the drugs that are legal yet more harmful. The message is to legalize Marijuana and is supported by arguments that are factual, compelling and backed up by reliable sources.

Marijuana has been used for millennia and has thousands of uses. The reasoning behind making Cannabis illegal is questionable and should be reviewed. Many people however continue to grow, sell and use Cannabis and even though outlawed, Marijuana trade industry has grown into a giant business. According to The Union documentary, the Cannabis industry could be responsible for up to CAD $7 Billion in sales each year. About 85% of BC’s Marijuana makes its way to the United States making this trade an international issue.

Adam Scorgie – filmmaker responsible for the documentary introduces Marijuana industry that commands billions of dollars and still remains illegal. The film crew visits Marijuana growers, activists, patients, police, politicians and whole plethora of other people whose lives have been affected by obsolete anti Marijuana laws. It also provides an outlook on what effects it would have on society if Marijuana was legalized. There are many excellent points presented.

It kind of makes you feel weird watching a documentary that makes so much sense. And you don’t even need to light up a doobie to totally agree with it. And considering current global economic difficulties, it’s amazing to learn how much of a spruce up an economy could get if Marijuana was legalized and taxed. Even government is a business. Don’t they get that part? Hemp is the shit. Legalize it now! But then again, if Marijuana was legal, entire tobacco and alcohol industries would take a heavy tumble. And they’re not gonna allow it. There’s too much money in stake and they won’t part with it willingly. For as long as these lobbyists have the power, legalizing of Marijuana will not be coming anytime soon.
