Amazing collection of microscopic pictures from inside of human body provided by Wellcome Images, UK shows various parts of human body up close and personal. Most of the pictures have been color enhanced to help important part stand out and get distinguished from its surrounding. This also adds to more 3D feel of the pictures that have depth thanks to color adjustments. Human body is truly amazing.
Vast maority of pictures has been photographed using SEM – scanning electron microscope which emits high energy beams that scan surfaces and create microscopic images of it as it “scans” across the cells. SEM can send millions of beams across the target area. Those slid along the surface of atoms present and send information that is then processed into a high resolution, 3D image. SEM can create high-res images of any part of human body and magnify it 250,000 times, which means it can create a high resolution image even of atoms as small as 1nm (nano meter).
The history of SEM images reaches back to 1935 when Max Knoll captured first microscopic picture of silicone steel. The SEM technology has since evolved and improved to a level that now it can create a nice, clean 3D image of even the smallest part of human body. Following microscopic pictures will take you on a journey through human body, showing detailed images of neurons in human brain, through plaque on teeth, down to surface of a healthy lung and a lung suffering from cancer, all the way to human egg, sperm and an embryo fertilized by sperm.
It’s a fantastic world of human body up close and personal. Great images with lots to offer. After you have seen these microscopic pictures, you may never look at human body the same again. All pictures were released by Wellcome Images under the Creative Commons License. Authors include Yorgos Nikas, Dr. David Becker, Professor Alan Boyde, Anne Weston, David Gregory & Debbie Marshall, Freya Mowat, Annie Cavanagh and Liz Hirst. Ken Hutcherson – former football star turned reverent has been one of the loudest speakers against gays and lesbians. His health has not been serving him quite well for a few years and many a speculation surfaced as to what is boggling his body temple. Prayers Warriors website was repeatedly showing notes from him asking the believers to pray for his health. Latest message seems to suggest that Ken Hutcherson may be suffering from cancer:

Next Monday I will be having a follow up medical appointment and blood test. Once the results are in, I will find out when I will be starting chemotherapy. Please pray that the Lord provides a miracle and I won’t need chemo! Thank you!
Pastor Hutch
Gay and lesbian people have heavy heart on Reverend Ken Hutcherson becuase of his unceasing anti gay activism. While I deem myself rather gay friendly (as long as you’re not a guy looking to stick your dick in my ass) but Ken Hutcherson’s extremism doesn’t offend me. Perhaps if I was gay myself, I’d look at it differently, however one thing is for sure – no matter the hating, I would not wish cancer upon anyone. Nor would I cheer if my proverbial enemy revealed that he suffered from one. Hopefully we won’t see gay parades in honor of Ken Hutcherson’s cancer as a way to celebrate silencing of one of biggest anti gay activists. Cancer is terrible.
I hope Ken Hutcherson pulls through and I’m not even fan of the guy. I wish all cancer patients strenght and hopefully they can win the battle. Keep it up

Sad news! Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park and author of line of great thrillers that include The Andromeda Strain, Disclosure, Sphere and Congo died unexpectedly of cancer today in Los Angeles. The representative for Michael Crichton only said that his death came after a “courageous and private battle against cancer”.
Michael Crichton was born October 23, 1942 in Chicago. He wrote his first novel – The Andromeda Strain – while attending Harvard Medical School and it became the best seller immediately. More than dozen of movies were based on his books.
Michael Crichton won an Emmy award in 1996 for “ER” that he executively produced. He’s survived by a daughter and his wife. RIP Michael Crichton

The speculations over John McCain’s Left Eye can be shut down now. As can be seen in the picture above, Senator John McCain has a massive scar on his left cheek that is the result of cancer operation from 2000. John McCain underwent melanoma surgery and this was not the only time surgeons had to make a big cut on his skin to remove cancer tumors.
It is not unusual to hear of people who have part of their face paralyzed after they had melanoma removed form their face. McCain’s Left Eye could easily be the result of the same. Giant cancer scar is a reminder of that.
Melanoma is a form of skin cancer can be fatal but when doctors went to check whether the one on John McCain’s temple has spread to a key lymph to determine if it could pose lethal threat, they found out it was not and was possible to be removed safely. John McCain was left scarred on the face, but alive and cancer free.
There are four stages of melanoma, with Melanoma Stage IV being the most advanced and most deadly. John McCain suffered from Melanoma Stage IIa. Survival rate for Stage IIa 10 years after the operation is at 65% but if there is no reoccurrence in first five years – which is the case of John McCain – the probability of reoccurrence in following five years drops to 14% and chance of death is down to 9%. John McCain had four follow up dermatologic check up since his Melanoma operation and they all came back negative. Stress tests show no signs of heart disease so he is considered by his doctors in overall good health. However these are reports form his doctors, not from an independent association.
The McCain left eye bullshit can now be put to rest, though. It was Melanoma. Not a pretty form of cancer – it likely affected McCain’s left eye and the way it appears smaller and lower – but he’s free from it now and wonky eye plus a big scar are the only reminders of it.
