China has carried out its first execution of a European Union national since 1951. 53 year old British citizen Akmal Shaikh was caught in 2007 trying to smuggle over 4 kg of heroin to China – a crime that bears the penalty of death in this communist country. Following two years of requests to grant Akmal Shaikh clemency, Chinese court has made its final ruling to go ahead with execution much to disappointment of British officials.
The execution of Akmal Shaikh prompted criticism of Chinese government by the Britons to which the Chinese responded with defiance. And as much as I am an opposer of the capital punishment, I must side with the Chinese on this one. Not with their right to execute their criminals, but with their right to retain judicial sovereignty. Akmal Shaikh knew what he was doing and knew that punishment for smuggling of such large amount of heroin to China may result in execution if caught yet he did it regardless. You play with fire, you get burned. As much as I don’t like capital punishment, I also don’t like heavy drugs such as heroin and most of all – I have no respect for people who do all they can to avoid working for their money. Opting for an easy way out by smuggling heroin to come by millions is the lowest form of being. I’m not saying Akmal Shaikh deserved to be executed, but he should have known better.
Yet another Cameron Douglas arrest. 30 year old stepson of actor Michael Douglas got busted in an undercover Crystal Meth sting operation at the Gansevoort Hotel in New York. Cameron Douglas was allegedly trying to take $18,000 worth of crystal meth from New York to Los Angeles (or the other way around?) with intentions to sell it there.
The DEA task force arrested Cameron Douglas in a room at the Gansevoort Hotel where he’s lived for a while. The room was paid for by Michael Douglas. What a dad, he’d even pay for his stepson’s long term stay in a hotel. Are there no available apartments to rent in New York anymore?
Cameron Douglas is no newb to jail. He was arrested twice before, this is his charming third time. Each of his three arrests were drug related. Dude knows how to party it out through life. All he needs to do is to play a drug addict. He’ll be sent to a rehab instead of a choker and the life will be back to normal once more. Afterall, they still want some meth in LA, right?
Or maybe Michael Douglas could cut him from his sponsorship pay check and let him live on his own. Dude gets paid for his hotel room by his step dad – he has no financial worries cause dad sorts it all out for himself. Let Cameron Douglas hit the rock bottom and wake up to reality.
Nicole Bobek was once a talented figure stater but opted for a short lived career change. According to New Jersey’s Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio, Nicole Bobek played a vital role in the drug ring that distributed methamphetamine (commonly referred to as meth). Nicole Bobek and 18 other people from the math ring were arrested during a successful drug bust that ended its operation. Prosecutor Edward DeFazio says Nicole Bobek was part of “the upper echelon of this (meth trafficking) ring”.
Nicole Bobek is now 31 year old, but back in her better days (pre math) she did pretty good as figure skater. Her biggest achievement was the title of a US champion in 1995 and a bronze from the World Championships in Figure Skating. The meth ring she was a part of operated primarily in New York where they were selling $10,000 worth of meth per week. The drug was brought to New York from the West Coast. The ring Nicole Bobek was part of may have also been involved in bleaching $1 bills and reprinting them as bills of larger denomination. Counterfeiting equipment and guns that were in rings possession were confiscated by the police.
Nicole Bobek had run ins with the law before. Even as 17 year old she was arrested and charged as a minor with first degree home invasion. She’s currently being held in New Jersey on a $200,000 bond where she was extradited from Florida as fugitive from justice. If found guilty, Nicole Bobek could face up to 10 year in prison. What sad end to what once was a decent figure skater. Meth’s not good for you, m’kay?
Sherry Johnston, mother Levi Johnston, the fiancé of Bristol Palin was arrested earlier today at her home in Wasilla, Alaska. Chuck Heath, the father of governor Sarah Palin mentioned that his grand daughter Bristol Palin was due this Saturday. Wow – so little girl is giving birth while her future mother in law is getting arrested on drug charges. That’s right – Sherry Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Damn, you’s think Sherry Johnston would know better. Unles it’s marihuana she got busted for. Weed is good and everybody smokes it. Except that people still get arrested for it. If she was smoking weed and got arrested for it, then WTF? But if Sherry Johnston was involved with some shit drugs, like Meth or Coke, the fuck’er! She should have stayed away from that shit now that her future daughter-in-law is the daughter of future president of the United States. WTF?
According to Politico, Sherry Johnston has been released on a $2000 bond form the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Sarah Palin’s spokes whore did not provide any official statement other than this was not a state government matter so they had nothing to add to it.
That’s kind of shitty. As of right now we don’t know what drugs Sherry Johnston got busted for. It’s all in the level of guessing. I hope it’s Meth, cause that would make for some wicked headlines!

Pro footballer Matt Jones of the Jacksonville Jaguars was caught in his car early this morning, cutting up his cocaine as if it was nothing.
“Jaguar” Matt Jones, 25 was partying in his former college town of Fayetteville this morning and was found by police at 12:40am using his credit card to cut up some cocaine with two buddies, whilst he casually held a straw full of the substance behind his ear like a cigarette. He was ordered to get out of his “gangster” Toyota SUV, but kept one arm in the window causing one police man to almost open fire.
After a search of the car, police discovered a bag chocked with cocaine and a jar with some kind of left over drug residue.
Matt Jones has been officially arrested on cocaine charges although there may have been marijuana present in the vehicle at the time. He two buddies Benjamin Cook, 26, and Jared Hicks, 25 were arrested with misdemeanor possession charges.
The Jaguars owner had nothing of “substance” to say, but looked visually embarrassed. Hey at least it wasn’t steroids, right?
Chad Gerlach had a great career going for him. He was a talented bike racer riding under flag of U.S. Postal Service, but just as his sport career was about to take off, he gave his life to drugs.

Parents of Chad Gerlach divorced when he was just eight year old. By the time he was 13 he became a convicted arsonist, setting fire in North California and went to serve his time in jail. His dad got him into bike racing after he got out of jail and it went great for him as he raced for the US Postal Service team.
Sadly enough, he found himself an obsession – crack cocaine. As he became addicted to the drug, Chad Gerlach was kicked out of the US Postal team and other teams he tried to race for. Unable to support himself, he became homeless, living on the street for 18 months. To get $2000 a month he needed to satisfy his crack cocaine addiction, he started pan handling.
Chad Gerlach had potential and wasted it by allowing drugs to take over his life. The excuse that he had a tough childhood is ridiculous. How many other kids had it rough when they were little, yet they don’t go burning shit and smoke crack? Chad still carries on using the divorce of his parents as an excuse. Get a life dude and get that life on track. Quit looking for excuses all the time. Excuses are for the weak. Hang on a second… I’m talking about a drug addict…. Nevermind!
