I just have to say, we were required to buy a mac for my major (visual communication design) so I actually own both a mac and PC right now. Honestly, my PC has just as many problems as my Mac does. On the flip side, both my mac and pc run certain programs better than the other.

Now I’ll be the first one to say that all Mac is out to do is make a buck. Hell, I can get a perfectly fine PC for under 2/3rds of the cost it would take to purchase a Mac. But I do have to say, the actual design of the Mac has me hooked. I work 10 times faster on my mac (and this is coming from someone who grew up hating them and only used PCs from the time she was 4 to 20). And that’s mostly because of the interface design. It’s a lot more intuitive IMO to people who KNOW computers. If you don’t than you’re better off buying a PC because Macs do shit sometimes that’s just like… WHAT?

As to the adobe crash reports. I’ve had it happen only a few times. You know what? Either check for updates (usually my issue is that I haven’t updated in ages) or just restart the comp. But honestly, this is Adobe’s issue, not Macs. I’ve had the same amount of crash reports when I’m on my PC so I don’t see any difference.

And as to the whole designer thing, MOST of the best designers I follow/know/watch etc use a Mac or Linux. Maybe two or three use a Windows PC. Just throwing that out there.

I am a software developer. I am not able to do my work on Windows due to it’s lack of advanced features. I mustuseeither a Mac or a Linux computer for my work and Mac crashes less than Linux so at the moment it is Mac OS. If Windows catches up and gets the pro features I need then I might switch.

BTW, fool: when you see one of those crash report screens, the *app* has crashed, not the operating system. If you don’t like seeing adobe apps crash, then try telling adobe about it. Don’t hold your breath for any improvements though; Apple’s been telling them how to fix their broken shit for at least a decade, and they keep on ignoring the problems.

Heh. On windows, you don’t see apps crashing much because the operating system beats them to the punch.
