The video above is from Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant and features 17 years old Janina San Miguel who did a great job throughout the beauty contest until the interviews with judges took place. Janina San Miguel was asked what role her family played on her way to become Binibining Pilipinas. It’s a pretty simple question, but kind of got her stuck and obviously her train of thought got lost and she spent most of her answer saying “I’m Sorry”.
She’s a hot bird though. Overall I think she handled the situation with charm which I think was the reason why Janina San Miguel ended up winning the pageant. Congratulations to her for becoming Bb. Pilipinas-World.

I think its not Janina’s fault…(entirely) but the organizers and the screening committee as well. They are the ones who knows what to do anyways.
I personally think brain does really matter in this kind of competition but if you can admit that you are not confident enough to speak english then speak in your own language, I think it will look more dignified and not at all embarassing to answer an english question with your own native tongue because a lot of contestants that are in the Miss Universe pageant do so. I know everyone who has seen this video laughed their heart out, I know I did, I felt humiliation for the whole race and hoping non-filipino can’t see it. Its embarassing at first but then I realized that she just maybe wasn’t thinking properly because of her nervousness and we all do it sometimes, right? We loose our train of thought and couldn’t get the right words out. I know I do, I can admit that too.
Maybe in seven months time before her next pageant she will be better I’m praying to God) so we can say again, “I’m proud to be a Filipino!”
