Awesome Japanese Spa Prank

Sunday November, 4 2007 @ 5:39 pm

Japanese TV pranks are the best. They have no limits as to how far they would go. This spa prank is so embarrassing. They launch naked people who want to relax in nice hot spa after a long day at the mountains right off to slide down the snowy hill in the nude.

Nice ownage and very funny. Japanese are some crazy folks. Their pranks are so crazy it’s pretty much impossible to execute them in North America. Thank God for Japan, where people are not as sue happy and have a sense of humor.

Anyway, i laughed my ass off, hope you enjoy the madness too ;)

Trent Reznor (NIN): ‘I Would Like People To Support Artists’

Saturday November, 3 2007 @ 6:33 pm

Trent ReznorNine Inch Nails (NIN) founder and frontman Trent Reznor has spoken to CNet about the future of his own work and the way that music will be distributed to consumers in the future. Trent Reznor recently parted with Interscope Records after fulfilling his contract and is also issuing a new album by friend Saul Williams through his own imprint as a digital release. Trent Reznor discussed his rationale behind all this, explaining, “Personally, I would like people to support artists. After all, we as artists dedicate our lives to producing the best music we can…should I be angry at the audience that wants to hear music so much, an audience that is so passionate about hearing it they go online to get it two weeks before the music debuts? No, I want them to be that way.”

Trent Reznor acknowledges basing the release of Williams’record, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of N***y Tardust, on Radiohead’s recent online debut of its new effort, In Rainbows. Trent Reznor told CNet that he thought Radiohead’s idea was an “exciting way to sell a record,” adding, “I think there were some serious flaws with how they executed but it was a good idea.”

Trent Reznor admitted that he can’t predict the future of music distribution, saying, “I don’t know what model is going to work. I do know relationships between music labels and artists like myself aren’t going well…Their treatment of artists has less sympathy and it’s more like ‘What can we get out of you?’ My only concern has always been that my audience is treated fairly.”

The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of N***y Tardust became available for download on Thursday (November 1st) n***ytardust.com.

Trent Reznor is also working on a follow-up to the latest Nine Inch Nails album, Year Zero.

Ozzy Osbourne – Sales of Black Rain Album Are Suffering Terribly for Downloading

Saturday November, 3 2007 @ 12:57 am

Ozzy Osbourne - Black RainOzzy Osbourne told Australia’s Herald Sun that sales of his latest album, Black Rain, are “suffering terribly” as a result of illegal downloading. Ozzy Osbourne explained, “I’ve been suffering terribly from people downloading it. If they don’t find something to stop it, people won’t be able to make records. There won’t be any new bands. How are they going to survive? I’m an old-timer, I’ve been doing it 40 years now, but new bands are going to suffer. It’s ridiculous, you could be doing it for nothing.”

Ozzy Osbourne added that he’s been forced to tour more in order to make up for lost income from CD sales, saying, “I’ve never done in a long time as many live shows as I’m doing now. This year I’ve done 90 shows. I mean, I ain’t getting any younger.”

Nevertheless, Ozzy Osbourne denied in a recent call with reporters the charge by his wife and manager Sharon’s brother that his sister was working Ozzy too hard: “My wife does not get involved with telling me about working. I tried retirement, it sucked. If I don’t want to do anything, my wife can’t make me do anything I don’t want to do.”

Ozzy Osbourne is currently on a headlining arena tour of the U.S. with special guest Rob Zombie. The trek pulls into Des Moines, Iowa on Friday night (November 2nd).

Tool Frontman Maynard Says Collaboration With Rage Members In The Works

Friday October, 19 2007 @ 11:31 pm

Maynard James Keenan of ToolTool frontman Maynard James Keenan says that he recently worked on a new song with drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford of Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine. Although Wilk and Commerford were rumored to have played on Keenan’s upcoming Puscifer album, the singer told us that the collaboration took a somewhat different shape: “They found themselves not working with (singer Chris) Cornell after the last Audioslave record and they wanted to know if I was interested in starting a band. And I said no, I’ve got this other thing going on and two other bands to boot. But what I suggested to them was that they should start their own band and have me sing a song, and have some other singers sing a song. I think on some level they agreed, and so that’s what we kind of did. I went in and we wrote a song together and right now they’re currently trying to record that song, and I’ll go sing on it.”

A different version of the same song, which is called “Mono Stead,” also appears on the debut Puscifer record, V Is For Vagina, which comes out on October 30th.

There’s no further details on the album project that the Rage Against The Machine musicians are working on or if guitarist Tom Morello is involved.

Puscifer is the umbrella for a loose collective of musicians, comedians and other artists that Keenan has been working with since the early ’90s.

Tool begins a new North American tour on November 14th in Austin, Texas.

Queens Of The Stone Age Wants To Record More Often

Friday October, 19 2007 @ 11:17 pm

Queens Of The Stone AgeLike his colleagues Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme is tired of the current music industry cycle of putting out new music only once every two years. Homme told us that he’d like to accelerate the process: “This idea of putting out a record and then touring for two years, and then waiting another two years because you’re working on a record…the one thing that we’re actually looking at, and because the band is so on the move right now, is trying to record more. We’re trying to figure out how to tour but work, because I think for everyone right now, the idea of creating something is even more sort of enticing than going on the road.”

Homme told Billboard.com that he would like to release a couple of EPs before making the next full-length Queens album.

He also revealed that a proposed EP of outtakes from the band’s current album, Era Vulgaris, was nixed by their record label.

Queens Of The Stone Age are currently on the road in support of Era Vulgaris, the outfit’s fifth album. They play Saturday night (October 20th) in Columbus, Ohio.

The band recently added dates in Portland, Oregon on December 17th and Seattle, Washington on December 18th to its itinerary.

The latest single and video from Era Vulgaris is “3’s and 7’s.”

Fall Out Boy Bassist’s Clothing Company Opens Store

Friday October, 19 2007 @ 9:51 pm

Pete WentzFall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz will be on hand this weekend for the grand opening of a store dedicated to his clothing and accessory company, Clandestine Industries. The store is located in the band’s hometown of Chicago and will open its doors at 10 a.m. on Saturday (October 20th). Wentz will be there to sign autographs for the first 100 fans who purchase one of four new Clandestine T-shirt designs, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and ending around 3 p.m.

The store address is 952 West Newport in Chicago.

Radiohead Plans Tour As More Fans Download Album Illegally

Friday October, 19 2007 @ 9:46 pm

Radiohead Plans TourRadiohead will head out on a worldwide tour next spring, according to Billboard.com. One of the band’s managers, Bryce Edge, said that the trek will most likely start in May and last until the end of 2008, adding, “At the moment we are talking with our agents…trying to get a schedule which works for the band and works financially.” Edge also said that the band’s summer 2006 tour, which was limited to smaller venues in a handful of European and U.S. cities, was done for “creative reasons, definitely not for financial reasons. And I think they quite enjoyed it. The next set of touring will be slightly larger-scale venues.”

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has expressed distaste for large tours in the past, especially because of their effects on climate change. Edge explained, “(Yorke) likes to do shows, but the whole business of schlepping around the world is not top of his list of favorite things to do. He really enjoys playing to the fans — it’s just the process of how to do that which is the pain in the neck…They’re not road dogs. They never have been.”

Radiohead issued its new album, In Rainbows, last week as a digital download, with fans able to pay whatever price they wanted. Edge said that reports of sales of 1.2 million downloads were “exaggerated,” but refused to name a figure.

Meanwhile, tracking company Big Champagne has reported that illegal downloads of In Rainbows have far surpassed any legal number, with 100,000 copies being downloaded a day.

A standard CD release of the album is tentatively planned for early 2008.

Thursday October, 18 2007 @ 11:49 am

Janet Dudley Eshbach Beating Mexican with a StickJanet Dudley Eshbach – the president of Salisbury University got a few people frowning upon her for posting questionable captions alongside photos on Facebook. One particular picture Janet Dudley Eshbach posted on Facebook had her pointing a stick toward a Hispanic man who appears to be hugging her daughter and the caption accompanying it said that she has to “beat off Mexicans because they were constantly flirting with my daughter.”

Reporters asked Janet Dudley Eshbach about it and hours later, all pictures and her Facebook profiles have been pulled. Later on, Janet Dudley Eshbach acknowledged that this was a mistake. Janet Dudley Eshbach has been the president of Salisbury University since 2000 and no disciplinary action is anticipated.
