I’m glad someone put Rashad Evans in place. Lyoto Machida took on the chellenge of sorting Rashad Evans out and he did not disappoint. Kyle Maynard is a congenital amputee. He basically only has two stubs for hands and small legs with deformed feet. None of Kyle Maynard’s limbs is what a healthy person has. Yet that is no obstacle in his dream of being an MMA fighter. And he did it. Kyle Maynard stepped into a cage and fought a full bodied opponent - Bryan Fry. Kyle Maynard lost the fight to Bryan Fry by unanimous decision. However it was a fight where regular MMA rules applied - that means kicks were allowed, knees were allowed, elbows were allowed - in other words, even though Kyle Maynard is limbless, he still had the balls to step into a cage and fight a regular fight with a trained MMA fighter who’s got all his limbs. For that Kyle Maynard deserves super props.

On the other hand, it is quite clear that Bryan Fry didn’t fight the same way he would have fought had he been against an opponent with all limbs intact. I can’t blame Bryan Fry for that. As trained MMA fighter, he’d feel truly horrible if he knocked out a limbless amputee with a kick to the face. It was a tough fight for Bryan Fry - I think it was much tougher for him psychologically that it was for Kyle Maynard. He knew crowd would cheer for Kyle and so they did, he knew he could not deploy all of his skill even though Kyle would wish for him to do so. You just can’t do it when you fight someone who has an obvious disability in respect to you. On a side note - how did the organizers picks the fighters? Aren’t there any weight groups? It doesn’t look to me like Bryan Fry was a fair weight group for Kyle Maynard. They should have picked some super skinny Thai fighter or something.

Kyle Maynard was a successful wrestler in high school - despite his disability. By watching the video, it is clear that he was striving to bring the fight with Bryan Fry to the ground so he could wrestle him. However, this being an MMA fight, not sheer wrestling, Wisconsin mixed martial artist Bryan Fry avoided the take down with skill. As part of his fight, Bryan Fry delivered several heavy blows to Kyle Maynard’s head. Kyle told the reporters after the fight that his ears are still buzzing from the blows, but he’s happy about it. So what the future holds for Kyle Maynard? Well, he told Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he wants to fight again. He’s determined to do it, just as he did it with wrestling. Mickey Goodwin - 50 year old boxing legend and the winner of The Golden Gloves from 1975 was bludgeoned to death in his home. Melvindale police confirmed that dead body of Mickey Goodwin was discovered at about 5pm inside a home on Ruth Street in Melvindale where he lived with his mother.

Yesterday I posted the video of Jeremy Lusk’s accident and wanted to wish him strenght so he could pull through even though his condision was serious. Few hours later, motorcycle freestyler succumbed to his injuries. It comes with utmost sadness that I have to announce the death of Jeremy Lusk and I hope his soul rests in peace. He passed away doing what he loved.

Jeremy Lusk died while still at intensive care unit in the Calderon Hospital in Costa Rica. His mother and father, his children and wife, his inlaws and friends from Metal Mulisha were all there with him during the final moments of his life, even though Jeremy was in medically induced coma.

When doctors were draining hematoma from his skull, they said there was only 5% chance of making it past the operation. This part actually went well, but his brain was enlarged making it impossible to close the skull back up. The complications added up to the point that it eventually claimed his life. RIP Jeremy Lusk

Motorcycle freestyler Jeremy Lusk had a bad accident during a competition in Costa Rica and remains in coma and critical condition. The competition was broadcast by Costa Rican television so the accident is recorded on a video. Jeremy Lusk, who’s a member of freestyle biker group called Metal Mulisha attempted a front flip and it didn’t quite go as he would have imagined. After a bit of a flight, Jeremy Lusk landed on his head which was stopped by the ground, while his body continued in a motion down the hill, ultimately twisting biker’s neck. He remained motionless on the ground as medical personnel approached his body to take care of him.

After the accident, Jeremy Lusk was immediately moved to Calderon Hospital in San Jose where he was put into a doctor induced coma, because his brain was swelling. Coma apparently pauses your brain from functioning which could prevent it from suffering permanent damage as result of unwanted activity. According to Metal Mulisha publicist Cheryl Lynch, Jeremy Lusk underwent 4 hours long brain surgery as soon as he was hospitalized to deal with subdural hematoma.

Cheryl Lynch further stated that Jeremy Lusk didn’t suffer any damage to his neck or spinal cord. So even though it appears from the video as though his neck got it really bad, it wasn’t in fact his neck, it was the blow to his head that struck his brain badly and knocked him unconscious.

Following hours are crucial for Jeremy Lusk. Doctors are scarce on details, but they all say the same thing - the future of Jeremy Lusk will be decided in next couple of days. Many fans of Metal Mulisha or just freelance motocross in general are sending their prayers his way.
